Park Arkadia, Warszawa

The wonderful Park Arkadia in the district of Mokotów in Warszawa.

I photographed this scene a few weeks ago. I look forward to returning this weekend as all the trees will be very lush and green now.

On this chilly, but sunny early Spring day last month, the park was positively buzzing with activity- kids playing, people exercising, strolling, socializing.

Parks are such an important part of urban green infrastructure. I look forward to exploring and documenting green spaces of Warsaw, from small neighborhood areas and parklets to the sprawling and large parks, extensively this Spring and Summer.

I’m also excited about some linear parks in development and coming soon in the city…

Is your town or city rich with best practices of green infrastructure? Are there neighborhoods or areas that are sorely lacking in natural / green spaces? Are you affected by lack of access to green space in your community? Are you concerned about urban heat and the lack of parks and other green spaces in your community?
