In many places, public transit is socially stigmatic. The provision of quality, affordable and accessible public transportation can help destigmatize and democratize public transportation. Providing equitable access to sustainable modes of transportation is vital to shift the mobility paradigm.
Today the Public Transit working group in the Pedestrian Space Global Walkability Correspondents Network will have their first meeting. I’m really excited about the establishment of this working group and exploring these along with many other aspects of public transit.
