I’m beginning to see many posts reflecting on how the memories of recent record-breaking heatwaves may begin to fade for many people as, in many regions, the seasons shift towards cooler temperatures.
Well, we have a group of people here for whom the issues of extreme heat will not be fading into distant memory.
Yesterday we hosted our first ‘Virtual Social’ for the recently established ‘Global URBAN HEAT Media Lab’.
The Pedestrian Space initiative, ‘Global URBAN HEAT Media Lab,’ is an international and interdisciplinary project and network for research, media, engagement, and education on issues of urban heat, mitigation, adaptation, and resilience.
Out of over 40 members from around the world who have joined the network since late July 2026, we had 16 members join our social today. Thank you all for your time and for sharing today. Looking forward to all the insights, projects, and collaborations this experience brings forward, and great to see everyone beginning to further connect.
