Welcoming new academic placements for the ‘Global URBAN HEAT Media Lab’ International Internship Network
Pedestrian Space began hosting academic interns in 2024. Academic interns at Pedestrian Space are encouraged to explore topics relating to urbanism and sustainability via their disciplinary lens and also with a focus on media output. Past academic interns have translated research content into diverse and engaging media content on various issues of urbanism.
The ‘Global URBAN HEAT Media Lab’ is a recently launched initiative of Pedestrian Space that supports interdisciplinary research, awareness-shaping, and media creation regarding urban heat mitigation and adaptation.
The initiative also supports the development of an international and interdisciplinary network, creating opportunities for knowledge exchange, co-learning, and collaborative research.
Within the broader collective, the initiative also supports an International Internship Network, with undergraduate and graduate students from diverse disciplines and at universities across the world. We have students from around the world formally activating their internships at different times during the 2026/27 school year.
