2022 Reflect

December 24th, 2022 morning reflection

Looking back on the last year of life. It’s been a very interesting chapter!

•A year ago this time (last Christmas) I decided to start a Network. I remember cooking for Christmas last year and getting excited with plans to launch the Global Walkability Correspondents Network which I did in January 2022 .

•In February 2022 I was confirmed as a Fellow at The Schumacher Institute – a great honor and I look forward to continued scholarship & activities as a fellow.

•In March 2022 I was notified that Pedestrian Space was included in the UN-Habitat ‘People-Centered Smart Cities Compendium’, which was launched in June 2022 at World Urban Forum in Katowice.

•During the summer of 2022 my family and I moved from a semi-rural suburban region of southern Poland to the country’s capital Warsaw. Our first time as a family living in a European capital city and first time as a family (and couple) experiencing big city lifestyle together.

• In September 2022, I was offered a place as a Ph.D. student at the Institute of Geography and Spatial Organization, Polish Academy of Sciences. I accepted!

•This month I launched my pilot research on mobility choice, mobility decisions and mobility behavior, holding my 1st two Urban Mobility Workshops ever (2 more pilot workshops next month!).

Now, time for a day of Christmas movies, cooking with my husband, doting on my kids and relaxing! Happy Holidays! 🙏
