On August 28, 2022, the Global Walkability Correspondents Network held its first workshop. Led by Stockholm Correspondent Raphael Mak, the workshop offered participants the opportunity to play the ‘Place Game’ in which they identify a place, its problems, opportunities & how to improve it. Participants also could identify stakeholders and partners who are involved in this place/space and could be allies for potential change.
After the workshop Raphael wrote:
Thanks everyone at the Pedestrian Space / Global Walkability Correspondents Network who came to the first Placemaking Workshop last Sunday (August 28th)! It was a nice occasion to hear about so many insights and ideas for interventions in public space.
Thanks Divantha Ekanayake, Nicole Roberts, Blair Lorenzo and Roberta Calcina, Zvi Leve, Gregoire Tessougue, Dr. Salma Samaha and Annika Lundkvist, FSI (network founder and coordinator) who attended the workshop!
On September 26 there will be a network roundtable on Placemaking towards a walkable city – partnering up for interventions, with Bahanur Nasya from Placemaking Europe as a special guest. It’s also an opportunity for participants of the August 28 workshop to discuss more on the sites they chose and further steps in their interventions in public space.
