Women & Built Environment: 1st Meeting

The ‘Women & Built Environment’ working group in the Pedestrian Space ‘Global Walkability Correspondents Network‘ recently held their first meeting.

The group is co-led by Poland-born and raised Honorata Grzesikowska who is currently based in Barcelona and Warsaw-based Ewelina Jaskulska.

I’m currently gladly based in Poland with my family, but look forward to bringing my experience and years of living in Swedish cities to this group’s reflections and work.

I received my first Master’s- in Spatial Planning and Built Environment- in Stockholm, Sweden. But perhaps just as (if not more) important, many of my formative lived urban experiences, as a woman and as a mother, happened in Sweden.

I learned a great deal about walkability, engaging built environments, green urban spaces, efficient and stroller-friendly public transit, engaging city play spaces and more, during my time living in and exploring Swedish cities.

I’m very excited to engage with this dynamic group as well as hear their varied experiences and insights and work on projects together. Also pictured are Roberta Calcina, Seleem Gaber & Nadia Momani.
