Photographing Walkability

I’ve been photographing urbanism and city life for a couple of decades now. But it is really only in the past few years that I have begun focusing on photographing issues of mobility.

And I love it.

It’s an exciting marriage between my academic background in planning + built environment and my work and craft as a photographer.

And from this union, pedestrianspace.org was born.

I love using my craft to depict walkability in all its forms; to convey, visually, the liberation one can experience through a more walkable lifestyle.

Photo: A phone photo snap in Örebro, the city where both @pedestrianspace social media & pedestrianspace.org the platform were established.

I learned so much moving around this very walkable city- also a fairly good example of a real 15-minute city, which I explored a bit via this small survey here: https://lnkd.in/eZyDcG82
