First Experiences of Walkability: Malmö

Where did you first experience walkability?

For me it was childhood Summer visits to Malmö. These visits form my earliest memories of moving about a city by foot and public transit.

My family and I spent a week in Malmö at the end of this past Summer before we left the Nordics. I spent a lot of time enjoying the streetscapes and photographing city spaces, sidewalks and dynamic local urban mobility (all among my first photography loves).

This photo below was snapped during a quiet moment on Kalendegatan, which was pedestrianized in 2006 by Malmö stad.
