Excerpts from a talk with Reykjavík-based sustainability consultant and urban planner Tamara Kocan.
Our city rating talks are very much conversational in nature and not meant to produce quantitative results but rather explore the narrative and experience behind people’s scores.
In this clip, we ask Tamara to rate the walkability and public transit of Reykjavík.
In the following clip, we ask Tamara to rate the walkability and public transit of Zürich.
After our chat and some reflection, Tamara shared that “as we discussed, ratings can change over time, sometimes quickly. After discussing it with a few people and seeing other ratings, I think I was too harsh on Reykjavík and even Zurich. Now I think I would rate Reykjavik 5/6 in Winter and 6-7 in the Summer. The center of Reykjavík would even give a 7-8. It really depends what you compare it with. It’s an interesting exercise for sure!“
