Call for Submissions: Special Issue ‘Spatial, Environmental & Social Dimensions of the 15-Minute City’

✍🏽📜 Submit a Manuscript to the Journal of Urbanism: International Research on Placemaking and Urban Sustainability for Special Issue ‘Spatial, Environmental & Social Dimensions of the 15-Minute City’⏳

Manuscript deadline: January 9, 2026

This SI invites contributors to rethink cities, searching for new perspectives on how to examine different social and spatial issues, in particular, seeking to discuss the underpinning of social, spatial and environmental dimensions comprised in the 15-minute city principles.

Special note: We recognize and appreciate these concepts not as rigid but intended as flexible, inclusive, and thoughtful to the needs of diverse inhabitants. We welcome content that explores the theory and practice of these concepts to include the 15-minute city concept, the 20-minute neighborhood, the 5-minute city, and related – often broadly referred to as ‘X-minute cities’.
