☝️Jazda autobusem miejskim bez buspasów, często rodzi niezadowolenie z powodu wolnego tempa i częstości hamowania

Images from our 4th Warsaw-based Urban Mobility Workshop held on January 28, 2023 at the HQ for Polska 2050.

This workshop welcomed a small, very cozy and talkative group- all participants were Polish, some from Warsaw and some from other cities and towns. The workshop was full of reflection about many aspects of urban devleopment and also of a lot of storytelling and sharing about mobility habits, desires, challenges and preferences.

Participant sharing perspective from the ‘mobility desire graph’ activity, in this case talking about how smog in the winter negatively affects his decision to walk at certain times of the day
Participant sharing about her ‘mobility desire graph’- in this case, a graph that reflects a person who is pretty content with their mobility lifestyle!

The ‘mobility desire graph’ offers participants the opportunity to share about their mobility lifestyle. One participant at this workshop shared that they most like cycling ‘as it requires effort’. Another participant shared that they would like to walk and cycle more in the Winter but the smog is a deterrent to doing so. Another participant shares that they have a disability due to knee issues, otherwise they would walk more, so in turn they depend on public transit a lot which they also enjoy. Another participant shared that they do not drive in the city due to fear and enjoys using a (traditional) scooter.

ENGLISH

👉 Are you a young mother who moves around the city every day with a baby stroller?

👉 You broke your leg and for the first time going out on the town on crutches, realize how important it is to design a public space in a way that is friendly to the weakest social groups – seniors, or people with disabilities?

👉☝️☝️🧑🏫 Workshop cycle – how do you get around the city? organized by Annika Lundkvist, PhD student currently living in Poland and the creator of the international portal Pedestrian Space , who in cooperation with Mikołaj Doroła, with the support of our association, organized this edition of the workshop in the office at the street. 83 Marshalkowska in Warsaw.🤓

The participants of the workshop worked on a map of thoughts and their own associations and ideas regarding urban mobility.

🚲 Traveling by bike – it can mean savings in your home budget and taking care of your health.

🚌 Driving a city bus – often causes dissatisfaction due to the slow pace and frequency of braking.

🚶♀ Walking around the city gives you the chance to get to know it better, and just walking in this friendly form of mobility in the city gives you a wonderful sense of freedom.

🚗❗ Driving in the center is often stressful.

People with disabilities want to feel part of the city, to do their daily business in it. Skillful, inclusive space design will definitely help them with that.
