It was great to meet Savannah Siekierski live and in person at the Kongres Nowej Mobilności | New Mobility Congress this week. Savannah wrote me earlier this year with interest in joining Pedestrian Space as an intern. Originally from Warsaw and now studying in the Master’s in Urban Studies program at ULB/Vrije Universiteit Brussel (while also holding bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience), Savannah is interested in the subjective and sensory experience of space, with a particular interest in walking and bridging fields of urbanism and psychology.

She was interested in pursuing her internship with Pedestrian Space due to our ‘strong participatory and advocacy components and a focus on true lived experiences of urban residents’.

We are honoured to host Savannah as an intern as she pursues research in Warsaw, utilising auto-ethnography and walking interviews. As Pedestrian Space is also dedicated to communicating issues of urban mobility and walkability, we look forward to publishing and sharing some of Savannah’s ‘behind-the-scenes’ research reflections in the form of a media diary throughout her internship.
