I’ve been living in Radom for over two months now, but only last Friday experienced the city center for the first time on a Friday evening/night.
I snapped the photo below, which doesn’t do justice at all to the scale and liveliness of the evening activity of the area, but still, I think, depicts a cozy and activated public space scene.
Observations: 1st, so many groups of teenagers were out. It was really clear that this is a habit for them, and as the evening progressed, the public space became even busier with teens and young adults.
There were also many other age groups milling about, relaxing, and using the space in diverse ways. It also seemed pretty clear (as I gain knowledge of the area) that these are predominantly locals.
I’ve lived in multiple European cities and seen various public spaces during various times of day/night, and was really impressed with how truly lively and clearly locally appreciated this public space is, especially in the evening, and by so many generations.
