Transit Equity Day is commemorated on February 4th, in honor of Civil Rights icon Rosa Parks. It is a nationwide day of action in the USA dedicated to highlighting the importance of equitable public transit and advocating for public transit as a civil right.
I spoke with Bakari Height of Labor Network for Sustainability in advance of the day to learn more about their network’s work to combat transit inequities. Their network will also host a live stream on February 5th in honor of the day.
