On March 3, 2023, upon the invitation of Professor Małgorzata Hanzl I hosted my first university-based workshop at Warsaw University of Technology // Politechnika Warszawska, for MA students in the graduate program ‘Architecture for the Society of Knowledge‘ and in the course ‘Urban Planning for the Society of Knowledge‘.

It was a fantastic and thoughtful group of graduate students – a mix of local Varsovians and students from other cities. It was great to engage them in discussion on mobility, the activities of the workshop, and issues of sustainable urban mobility, as well as hear their reflections about how they prefer to move through the city.

“I like the atmosphere very much!”

“Very useful workshop that opens the borders of the mind, bringing light to some topics that are often not discussed but are important. Quite interactive. I liked it.”

One of my (many) hopes is that when my workshop participants later remember a moment from the workshop, while in commute, or waiting for a coffee or some other situation, a smile comes to their face, or a glimmer of thought, a new idea. I also hope to be able to spark some excitement to share about these topics of personal mobility choices, decisions, and routines with family, friends, and colleagues to inspire dialogue.

It was a fantastic first university-based workshop. Thank you again Professor Hanzl and look forward to further collaboration!
More university-based workshops to come as well as my first university-based talk next month. See more at Urban Mobility Workshops: Warsaw.
