The Liberty!

For me, walking is a natural liberty.

It wasn’t until about 20 years ago, when I experienced living in a walkable urban environment for the first time, that I began to understand the liberty of walkability, even if I was not aware of it as a word or concept at the time.

In my dialogues with people, this topic continues to pop up. People share about the ‘liberation’ they felt when they gave up their cars for a walkable or cycle-prioritized lifestyle.

This energy, this liberty, is really at the heart of it all for me. Experiencing the liberation of not being car-dependent is life-changing.
