My first research chapter is live and published.
The chapter is titled ‘Exploring Warsaw Metro: Subterranean Solutions for Walkability in Cities’ and is in the Springer Nature book ‘Underground Spaces for Climate Resilience and Sustainability.
This work brought me back to my first Master’s thesis research, about 23 years ago, on innovative and practical human use of underground space and now with new opportunity to engage in research on underground urbanism, right here in Warsaw.
Abstract: In an era of increasing urbanization and competing interests for city spaces, the demand for innovative and practical solutions is higher than ever. Utilizing urban underground space is increasingly becoming essential where it makes geological and spatial sense.
Thank you to Metro Warszawskie for the support with the development of the research!
