GWCN Warsaw Chapter

GWCN: Global Walkability Correspondents Network Local Chapter: Warsaw!

The Global Walkability Correspondents Network (GWCN) was established in January 2022 to provide space and solidarity for walkability advocates worldwide and provide media on the state of walkability in our communities.

In October 2023, we launched the call for network members worldwide to establish their own chapters to further seed walkability-related activities in their communities. Across the world, various network members are beginning to lay the ground to establish their own chapters.

The global mission of all Chapters: Advocating for Walkable Communities and Supporting Voices of Walkability

We are excited to announce the establishment of the Warsaw chapter this week, whose objective is to bring people together via workshops, walks and activities to discover Warsaw by foot & demonstrate alternatives to the car-centric paradigm.

The chapter Motto is ‘Discovering Warsaw by foot & examining the culture of automobilism‘ and reflects the activity intended by the chapter founders & investigative spirit on looking at issues of urban mobility.

The chapter founders- Katarina Pupavac, Bartosz Stępień & Annika Lundkvist, FSI – have been coordinating on walks and workshops for many months now and look forward to continuing to engage residents of Warsaw in interesting, exploratory and insightful experiences by foot.
